Poulets Grilles a la Diable

You all know my love for Julia Child well...

The other night I whipped up a dinner for N and I. I knew which sides I wanted to have but I needed a good chicken recipe to try out so I turned to my trusty Mastering the Art of French Cooking cookbook. I found a recipe for a mustard, herb and bread crumb crusted chicken that didn't look too hard. *wink*

The recipe: Poulets Grilles a la Diable or Chicken Broiled with Mustards, Herbs, and Bread Crumbs. The recipe was really easy to follow just the way Julia wanted it to be. I whipped up the sauce in no time. And in the mean time the chicken was in cooking away in the broiler.

The sauce was delicious!!

I spread that all over both sides of the chicken and then coated them in bread crumbs.

Then I baked them for a little longer.

I mean just look at how this dinner turned out. Yum.

Julia Child is truly an inspiration. I love her for putting so much work into her book and never giving up even when times got tough. She really wanted to see a change in the way America cooks. This will not be the last recipe I share with you from her book so look out for more *wink*

*My Thoughts*
Anyone can cook.
I love having Julia's cookbook around.
Anytime I am looking for a really good recipe I turn to it.
Buy the book here.

Apartment Hunting: Part 3

As I said in my last post I have finally found a place to live... yippy! I have been there almost two weeks now and I am loving it. I am slowly making the place my own but you will have to wait and see until it is all finished.

This post is to give you a tour of the inside of my place before I moved everything in. So grab a cup of whatever you enjoy, my choice is a big glass of water, and let's go...

Follow me through my front door

I love the brick and big windows of my place. Even though this place is little (as you will see in a minute) these big windows let in so much light that I rarely use the lights inside during the day time. I think natural light is a beautiful thing and one of God's many great wonders so I like to let in the light and just enjoy it. Okay enough talking let's head inside shall we

Living room and

dining area.

This is my tiny little kitchen with a big refrigerator that is just perfect for me.

Now onto my bedroom. This is considered a studio apartment, so I do not have a door to my bedroom which I like. There is a curtain rod up because I am going to hang long curtains in place of a door.

That ugly, low hanging fan that wobbled when on high that I thought would chop my head off and could only be used on low has recently been replaced.

It is actually a nice size room and is coming along nicely!!

Down the hall to the right is my sink and mirror and then on the left is the bathroom with the shower and toilet.

and then past the bathroom to the door at the end of the hall is my beautiful closet...

That I have filled with all of my clothes, shoes, and random things. I sometimes just stand in the doorway and stare at it because I haven't had a walk-in closet since I was little and there is just so much space I love it!

Well the tour has come to an end I hope you enjoyed! Now to leave you with pictures of the views from my front door.

I love my little patio. I like going out there to sit and read a good book.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

*My Thoughts*
I love having my own place to call my own that is all mine.
It is slowly coming along.
Thank you all for coming along on this tour with me. I have enjoyed showing you my empty place but I cannot wait to show you the finished product. :)

Absence

Hello internet world. I apologize for my absences from my blog lately but I have recently moved into a new apartment. The weeks leading up to my move were stressful. Through it all, however, I stayed positive and tried my best to keep my spirits high. It all worked out in the end!

I am now living in my neat little apartment in Central Florida and I love it so far. I meant to take some pictures this morning of my front door and patio since the weather was terrible yesterday but I completely forgot to and I forgot my camera there (I have no internet yet at my place hence the dilemma) as I was running out the door for church.

Anyways I will have a before and after post of my new place to show you how I made the little space my own, once it's done of course. But for right now this will have to do... at least now you know that I haven't dropped off the side of the earth or fallen down a hole somewhere. I am still alive I have just been busy and overwhelmed by this whole move. I cannot wait to show you my place, so remember to keep checking back for those posts.
